College Life

The 2-year programme allowed me to learn a variety of knowledge and receive training regarding the hospitality and tourism industry. In order to broaden our horizons, the College has arranged a 6-month job placement for students. I was given an opportunity to work at InterContinental Hong Kong, and my position was Guest Services Officer in the Front Office Department. I was able to communicate with tourists from different countries and to experience the daily operation at a Forbes 5-Star Hotel.

In these two years, I have learned a lot of knowledge from lectures. This programme not only focuses on academics, we also had a valuable opportunity to work in a luxury hotel for six months to broaden our horizons and gain more experience. The lecturers in HPSHCC are kind and helpful. I am glad to study here.

As I did not perform satisfactorily in HKDSE, I was puzzled and frustrated as going to the university was the ultimate goal that I have been striving hard for throughout my secondary school life. After talking to my friends and teachers in my school, I applied for the Higher Diploma programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management offered by HPSHCC. The two years of studies in HPSHCC enriched my academic knowledge as well as work experience.  I really appreciated the lecturers who gave us a helping hand whenever we faced a problem, academically or any other issues. It is definitely a life-changing experience studying in HPSHCC.

The programme not only helped me to learn about tourism industry, but it also provided a 6-month internship for us to practise the skills and gain experience in the workplace. This is a great opportunity for us to grow and we benefited a lot from it. I am pleased to study at HPSHCC where I met excellent lecturers and classmates who encouraged me whenever I encountered difficulties.

I am glad that I can study at HPSHCC. The lecturers are helpful and kind, they always answer my questions and help me whenever I have difficulties. Also, after participating in an internship in a luxury hotel, I had a deeper understanding of hotel operations.

The College arranged a 6-month job placement for us. I completed my placement at InterContinental Hong Kong. I had the chance to communicate with tourists from different countries, giving them an introduction of local attractions, booking restaurants or arranging transportation and accommodation for them in Macau or Mainland China. The experience was challenging.

After two years of hard work , I successfully articulated to the University of Hong Kong. I have learned a lot from the lecturers. The course also provided a half-year internship for all students.  I was arranged to work in InterContinental Hong Kong. We were given choices to work at different departments  such as the Housekeeping, Catering, and Front Desk so that I can understand more about the operations of the hotel industry.
