College Life

I felt grateful for I have studied my higher diploma programme at HPSHCC. I wanted to thank all of myteachers, student counsellors and friends for their advice and assistance. The HD in MHPM programme covers many subjects such as Sciences, Drugs, Anatomy and Physiology. Lecturers also give us advice on pathway of study or work. Besides studying, we can participate in different internship progarmmes or activities.I have joined ActiveCarePharmacy Limited as a student intern and V-circle to do voluntary community works. All of these experiences gave me a memorable school life.

I was not a hard working student in secondary school; consequently, I did not do well in the public examination. Thus studying in the university seemed like an unattainable goal. Fortunately, I enrolled in the Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management at HPSHCC. The programme curriculum is practical and the lectures are interesting which has greatly aroused my interest in studying. Moreover, I have made a lot of good friends in the College. We always help and encourage one another in studying. After two years of hard work, I finally achieved my goal. I really treasured my time and memory at HPSHCC.

After I finished my high school diploma, I felt very confused and frustrated, because my DSE results could not reach university requirements. Also, the lack of education level made it difficult to find a job too. Therefore, I randomly chose this subject to study in the beginning. Before starting this program, I experienced failure in learning, and lost confidence in learning. But while studying, I found it is more interesting than I thought; I learned medical knowledge and instrument operation knowledge. This is specific knowledge that others may not know. At the same time, the program teaches interesting knowledge in biology, such as pathophysiology, anatomy and pharmacy, which are more professional. Other than knowledge, lecturers are also enthusiastic in teaching too. If we ask questions, pay attention in class and diligently review, we will be able to get good grades; so I regained my interest in learning now. Although this course is very interesting and useful, however, if the case that we want to have further studies in university, language is a very important factor, so students may need to put much effort and study the language to fulfill the basic requirements of getting into university.

The course can broaden my scope of knowledge and widen my horizon. It is important for me to develop a far broader outlook on life and have better prospects.

Time flies. My college life at HPSHCC was enjoyable and memorable. I was not sure what my plan was in the beginning. After studying for two years, I have made a lot of friends and learned much of the knowledge. I become more confident and am ready for new challenges ahead.

The HD in Medical and Health Products Management programme has helped me to lay a good foundation for the university study. It provided ample opportunities for students to learn outside the classroom. I had worked as an intern in the Centre for Genomic Science, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, HKU. Our programme lecturers were professional who gave us extra tutorials and guidance in the study. I also made good friends and had great companionship.

We were taught of knowledge and techniques about medical industry and have had opportunities to apply the knowledge during internship and our daily life. The 2-year study of this HD programme was a fruitful experience. Teachers gave us a lot of advice on our study and career prospect. I am grateful to all of their support and encouragement.

Although I was not admitted to the local university due to my unsatisfactory HKDSE result in 2014, I eventually received conditional offers from two local universities after my completion of the Higher Dipolma in Medical and Health Products Management (MHPM). This 2-year HD programme taught me lots of useful medical knowledge like Anatonmy, Physiology and Microbiology. I also met good friends and great lecturers who are professional and always prepare well for every lecture. So, if you are interested in Medical and Health field, try this programme. I am glad that I can be a member of MHPM.

In the past two years, I have leant the skills and knowledge in medical and health products management, which is useful for me to pursue my future career in drugs or nursing industries. This programme also provided me with an internship opportunity of which I can apply and strengthen the knowledge and skills. Thanks to the all-rounded training of the programme. I have received degree offers from different universities and can fulfill my dream in this field.

Before enrolling in the Higher Diploma programme, my goal is to be admitted by the local university but after the past one year’s wonderful time at the College, what I have gained is far more than what I predict. Firstly, I met a group of good friends, which we learn and grow together. We worked hardly, even until mid-night, on the projects and exams. Secondly, through participating in the College’s mentorship programme, I could experience those mentors’ strong passions. Thirdly, lecturers are responsible and patient in teaching us. Last but not least, as the way of learning is totally different from that in the secondary school, my learning attitude changed. I am now more proactive in learning … Time flies and I am now more mature, with confident to strive for my dream, to be a registered nurse.

The College is a place that gives you courage and motivation to move forward. With the full support from lecturers and schoolmates, I have the boldness and energy to study hard and set goals for my life. I will always appreciate what I have gained from HPSHCC.

The Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Product Management programme offers a variety of courses to students. From microbiology to pharmacology, all subjects equip me with the fundamental concepts and knowledge of medical sciences. Lecturers are caring as they always answer our questions and give suggestions about our future plan. With their helping hands, I find my interest about sciences and able to continue my study in related subject in the University.
