“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” This programme provided me an opportunity to pursue my dream as a social worker. During my time at the College, with the help and support of my classmates, lecturers, and counsellors from Student Development Resource Centre, I was highly motivated to study hard. Eventually, I can now study social work at The University of Hong Kong. I am truly grateful for the high-quality education I received in the College.

Time flies. I am glad to study at HPSHCC as there are various extra-curricular activities and excellent student services to help with our further studies. I have made lots of new friends and devleoped a sense of belonging here. Throughout the past 2 years, I learnt that making efforts is a significant key to success:“Work hard, play hard”. Although I sometimes felt stressed-up about my studies, I never felt alone at HPSHCC as I have friends standing by me. The College provided strong academic support while the teachers and counsellors from Student Development Resource Centre always guide me patiently.

My one-year college life at HPSHCC passed so quickly. Although face-to-face teaching was interrupted by COVID-19, the lecturers adopted various methods and online channels to teach us which made learning more effective. The first year of AD courses broadended my horizon and prepared me well for my studies in the university.

To me, the college life at HPSHCC is a memorable experience for I have gained a lot during the studies. Lecturers try their best to inculcate students with love and knowledge; they are willing to help us anytime. Also, the student counsellors of SDRC are professional and they have provided us with guidance in career and studies. Some students may think that studying a sub-degree programme is a waste of time and effort, and they are less competitive than the others who are studying in the university. I don't see it this way. Everyone has his or her potential. We should not underestimate ourselves. Find the right path, make the right decision and do your best to reach the goal.

I was really grateful to study at HPSHCC for the past two years. The resources, teachers and classmates of the college were great. I felt more motivated to work hard with less pressure during the studies. Some of the lecturers were experienced social workers. They shared with us many real cases that they have dealt with in the past. They usually concerned about what type of social workers students are suitable for, and discussed the prospects so that I could have a clear plan about my career path.

The programme curriculum and learning mode at HPSHCC are similar to those of the university programmes which have helped me build a solid knowledge foundation for the tertiary education. My communication and cognitive skills have been improved and enhanced. Most importantly, the programme lecturers are professional and aspiring. They encouraged me to strive for the best and fulfil my dream.
